More than a decade ago I began an incredible journey to uncover and understand the Jewish roots of my Christian faith. Aside from the moment of my salvation, it has been the most transformative, exciting, and fulfilling experience of my life. I began to read Scripture from a Jewish perspective rather than from the Greek and Roman-influenced doctrine I had been taught as a believer.

I now read the scriptures and understand Jesus’ teachings from the original perspective in which they were written.

A couple of months after the Lord miraculously healed Tiz, a lady came up to us after church one Sunday morning. She told us that she had come to church so we could pray for her. She said she was Baptist and a loyal member of her church for years. She had a grandson whom she loved very much. During the prior week, he had been taken to the hospital where they had discovered several brain aneurisms. She went to her pastor for prayer.

The pastor had heard of the miracles God was doing at New Beginnings, and of Tiz’s healing and my teaching on the tallit, the Jewish prayer shawl. After he prayed for her, this pastor suggested that she come and see us. That morning, I gave her a brief teaching on the woman touching the hem of Jesus’ garment. The woman told us that she was going to the hospital to visit her grandson as soon as she left the church. As we prayed for her that morning, I wore my tallit and claimed the healing power of God to come alive for her grandson. On her way out, she stopped by our bookstore and bought one of our tallit’s.
When she walked into the hospital room, it was filled with many concerned relatives. The woman told them that this was not the way she usually prayed, but she felt the need to obey the Lord in this. She explained to them that, like the woman with the issue of blood, their family had tried everything. She quickly explained what I had told her about the tallit and then laid it on her grandson and prayed for God’s promise of healing.

A few hours later, they took more tests on the boy. Not long afterward, the doctor came back with great news: the test showed no more bleeding. By His stripes, her grandson was healed. To God be all the Glory!
