- What's an iPod?
An iPod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple Inc and launched in 2001.
s of 2008, the current product line-up includes the hard drive-based iPod classic,
the touchscreen iPod touch,
the video-capable iPod nano,
and the screenless iPod shuffle.
- What's a Podcast?
A Podcast is a series of digital-media files which are distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media players (i.e. iPod) and computers.
The term podcast, like broadcast, can refer either to the series of content itself or to the method by which it is syndicated; the latter is also called podcasting.
The host or author of a podcast is often called a podcaster. Scripts allow podcasts to be automatically transferred to a mobile device after they are downloaded.
A podcast is distinguished from other digital media formats by its ability to be syndicated, subscribed to, and downloaded automatically when new content is added.
- What is iTunes?
iTunes is a digital media player application,
introduced by Apple Inc in 2001 for playing and organizing digital music and video files.
The program is also an interface to manage the contents on Apple's popular iPod digital media players as well as the
iPhone.
Additionally, iTunes can connect to the iTunes Store via the internet to purchase and download digital music, music videos, television shows, iPod games,
audiobooks, various podcasts, feature length films (available only in the USA and Canada), Movie Rentals and Ringtones.
iTunes is available as a free download for Mac OS X, Windows Vista, and Windows XP from Apple's website.
